Summit County, Colorado’s Climate Action Plan set a goal to achieve 100% renewable electricity by 2035. And while utility support is a key component of meeting this goal, Summit’s local governments wanted to take action locally. So non-profit partner High Country Conservation Center (HC3) created Solarize Summit, a county-wide bulk buy program for rooftop solar. In 5 years of program implementation, the community has added 2 megawatts of solar power to local rooftops.
