Celebrate the communities, projects, and leaders driving climate action across mountain, rural, and resort communities. Nominations close September 10, 2026.

The Mountain Towns 2030 Climate Action Awards celebrate the bold leadership, collaboration, and innovation happening across our network, while inspiring action in other communities. Winners will be announced live at the MT2030 Climate Summit in Sun Valley, Idaho on October 13 to 14, 2026.

The purpose of the awards is to spotlight the communities, projects, and individuals shaping the future of climate leadership in mountain towns. Three finalists will be selected per award.

2026 Award Categories

From bold local government initiatives to standout individual leadership, this year's awards celebrate the full spectrum of climate action happening across our network and include the following awards:

Community of the Year: This award honors a local government (town or county) that has taken bold action through a project or initiative that delivers real, measurable climate impact. It’s about spotlighting communities that are raising the bar and proving what’s possible.
Project of the Year: A specific project or initiative with demonstrated, high-impact climate outcomes, from a single organization or a cross-sector collaboration.
Torus Clean Energy Project of the Year: A standout clean-energy-specific project or initiative (i.e. solar, storage, geothermal, grid resilience, etc.) that has had a positive impact.
Mountain Catalyst of the Year: A standout individual (government official, nonprofit leader, resort executive, or community advocate) whose personal leadership sparked real climate progress.

Guidelines & FAQs

Nominations Close September 10, 2026.

Each nomination must be submitted via the form below.
You may submit nominations for any or all award categories, from one to all four.
You may submit multiple nominations, but please use a separate submission for each category.
You may nominate your own organization, or nominate another organization or individual.
A short video clip is optional but encouraged, and may be featured at the Summit.
Nominations should focus on work that has launched or been completed within the past 2–3 years.
Finalists will be selected through a community vote and notified by mid-September.
Winners will be announced at the MT2030 Climate Summit in Sun Valley, ID, October 13–14, 2026.
