It's a remarkable story highlighting the power of teamwork, leadership, and hope.

How Mountain Communities Fund Climate Action

A 60-minute session tackling one of the toughest challenges for mountain towns: how to fund climate action when federal dollars are shifting and local budgets are stretched thin.

Join George Chmael II, President & CEO of Council Fire, to explore what federal and IRA funding remains available, and how communities can use a mix of local revenue tools — value capture, resilience fees, special assessment districts, bonds, and tourism-linked mechanisms — to keep climate work moving forward. You'll also learn how communities can pool resources to compete for grants that would be out of reach on their own.
