Katie Wright told her high school counselor that she wanted to be a ski bum, and then drove west on I-70 for 30 hours, landing in Colorado for five years. After lots of skiing (and studying) Katie finished her undergraduate degree at Colorado College and moved even farther West to Utah – a favorite place to ski since she came here with her parents as a child.
As Park City Community Foundation’s Executive Director, she tackles Park City’s toughest challenges by bringing together local nonprofits, caring donors, and community leaders to contribute financial resources and innovative ideas. Whether it’s increasing access to mental health services or early childhood education, protecting our mountain environment, or growing arts enrichment, her job is to connect the community to important issues.
After 17 years in Park City, 12 at the Community Foundation, and 5 as Executive Director, Katie believes that Park City’s best days are ahead. An avid skier and mountain biker, Katie’s spends her days on Park City’s trails, camping with her two daughters and husband, and ensuring that Park City is a community for all people.
