The 2024 MT2030 Climate Solutions Summit

The Mountain Towns 2030 Climate Solutions Summit is the annual gathering of leaders and stakeholders from mountain, resort and rural communities working together to achieve zero carbon emissions by 2030.

Since launching in 2019, the Summit has evolved into the preeminent networking and knowledge-building event for key stakeholders committed to accelerating climate action in mountain, resort and rural communities throughout the US.

The 2024 Summit will be hosted in Jackson, WY with the Jackson Hole Center For The Arts serving as the hub of the event.

The two-day Summit features inspirational keynotes and conversations with some of our nation’s foremost climate leaders and 30 peer-led breakout sessions addressing the emissions-reducing solutions and community-wide climate planning and collaboration strategies most valuable to mountain, resort and rural communities of every size.

Attendees will leave the Summit with access to a collaborative network of peers and the knowledge and actionable tools to accelerate climate action in their organizations and local communities.

We’re excited to have Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson kicking off the Summit on October 15th. Dr. Johnson is the author of the forthcoming book “What If We Get it Right?: Visions of Climate Futures.” She serves on the board of directors for Patagonia, received the Schneider Award for climate communication, and was on the Time 100 Next List.

The Summit will wrap with a conversation with Ari Matusiak, CEO of Rewiring America and David Roberts, Journalist and the host of Volts podcast. They’ll be talking about the importance of electrification, decarbonization and the straightest path to zero. Ari Matusiak is the CEO of Rewiring America, a national climate solutions nonprofit working to electrify homes, businesses, and communities, and vice-chair of Power Forward Communities, a national coalition built to help deploy Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund dollars equitably. He is also co-founder and managing partner of Purpose Venture Group, and from 2011 through 2014, he was special assistant to the president and director of private sector engagement in the Obama White House. David Roberts has been reporting on climate change and clean energy issues for 20 years, first at Grist.org, then at Vox, and now at his own newsletter and podcast, Volts.
